a birthday cake.

This cake, a very simple apple cake, is the most well-known recipe in our household. I first made it in our old apartment roughly four years ago. I found it on allrecipes and decided to throw it together for a party because it seemed so very easy. And goodness, besides being one of the simplest dessert recipes, it is one of the best cakes I have ever had.

This is the cake my husband talks about and craves constantly. It has become a tradition for me to bake it every year on his birthday and he usually finishes it by the end of the day. Yesterday he turned 25 and even though I was sick, I managed to pull myself together for ten minutes and bake him his favorite apple cake. He jokes that this will be the cake our kids will request when they come home from college.

Anyways, enjoy!
